About us
Kind Keeper Animal Rescue was founded in 2014 as a small, private, non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization by Belinda Mairowicz.
Kind Keeper is a no-kill rescue with a mission to actively rescue dogs and cats that are homeless, at risk for euthanasia due to shelter overpopulation, and often suffering from medical problems. This includes a high population of newborns, pregnant, and senior animals. We provide veterinary care, proper nutrition, training, and exercise and prepare animals for adoption in the community. What makes Kind Keeper different from other rescues is the animal population. Belinda has a soft spot for abandoned baby animals. pregnant mama animals, and those that have special needs. Just when we think we’ve seen just about everything, something new comes in our door!
Kind Keeper is an organization that values the individual skills and backgrounds that come with new staff and volunteers. Creativity is encouraged and fostered. We use best practices and always strive to improve outcomes for our animals and clients. Kind Keeper values and supports employee and volunteer skill growth. We applied for and received a vet tech scholarship for staff. We also sent staff to workshops on animal welfare topics. We give back to our community by conducting educational classes on the humane care and treatment of animals. We take shelter animals to a dozen different nursing homes each month to enrich the lives of the residents and the animals. We donate pet food and supplies to local food banks to help people keep their pets in their homes. We do all that we can to serve the needs of our community.
Extremely well cared for animals by wonderful employees and volunteers. Please consider adopting from Kind Keeper! I am not going to lie, reading through past reviews of this rescue had me questioning whether or not to adopt from them even though we had fallen in love with a puppy. After a long conversation with Amanda, I was put completely at ease. Coming from a long animal welfare and veterinary background, I had a ton of questions about how they cared for, maintained, and vetted their puppies; the last thing I wanted was to bring home a sick pup that would cost me tons to vet. Amanda and I discussed how all litters are quarantined from one another, employees wearing disposable smocks and shoe coverings between interactions with the litters, bi-weekly fecal checks, and maintaining a strict schedule for vaccines and deworming. ALL THE RIGHT ANSWERS! YAY! We picked up our puppy the following morning and drove nine hours home with him. He was clean, his stools were solid, he was already well socialized, and was a joy in the car. Even my personal vet was very impressed with how well he was cared for and the thoroughness of his veterinary care before we brought him home. Thank you Kind Keeper Animal Rescue for all that you do and for keeping in contact with me since bringing our pup home. You are truly amazing – Christina Byrnes – Google Review
